Allied Health Department Coordinator
Rebecca Stovall
Sandra Carter

My name is Sandra Carter and I am the new Allied Health Coordinator here at Forrest College. I graduated from Tri-County Tech in 2006 in the top 2% of my class with a diploma in Medical Assisting. While still in school, I joined the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) as a Student Medical Assistant and have been active in the organization since 2005. In December of 2006, I sat for the Certification exam and ranked in the top 10% of students in South Carolina.

I went to work for Cornerstone Family Medicine while still in school. While at Cornerstone, I utilized the skills I learned as a student by working in the lab. From Cornerstone, I went to work as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at Anderson Family Care for Dr. Clifton Straughn and Dr. Wajdi Dbouk. While there, I worked in the clinical side of medicine as I have always been more interested in working one on one with the Doctors and with my patients.

I also worked with and helped to train Medical Assisting students who were rotating through my office on their externships. I really enjoyed helping them to learn while on the job and realized then that I was interested in working with the students while they were still in school.

Since coming to work here at Forrest College in August of 2010, I have really enjoyed getting to know everyone. I love the family type environment and providing the one on one attention that each student occasionally needs. I look forward to getting to know each one of you and helping each of you to realize your dreams.
