2019 Medical Assisting Program Performance Outcomes

Forrest College has program accreditation for its Medical Assisting Associate in Science Degree Program. The Associate in Science Degree Program in Medical Assisting is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB). One of MAERB’s Criteria is that the College publish Performance Outcome indices that are submitted each year to MAERB as part of its annual report. In past years, these outcomes were an average of performance over the most recent five-year period. This year, these percentages are from specific year cohorts and indicated below.

Student Retention Rate – 2017 — 62.5%
Sixty-Three percent of students who started the program completed the program. The threshold for retention is 60%.

Job Placement Rate – 2018 — 83%
Eighty-three percent of the students who have graduated from the program are working in the Medical Assisting field or are continuing their education.

Certification Examination Pass Rate – 2017 —50%
Fifty percent of graduates who attempted the Medical Assisting Certification Examination passed the exam and are certified CMA (AAMA)

Graduate Satisfaction – 2018 — 100%
One hundred percent of graduates were satisfied with the quality of our program.

Employer Satisfaction– 2018 — 100%
One hundred percent of employers surveyed were satisfied with the quality of work of our graduates.
